Skincare for Humid Weather

A humid environment mostly has a bad effect on your skin. It basically increases the amount of bacteria on your skin that can cause acne breakouts. It could make your skin more oily and can obstruct the sweat glands, leading to the accumulation of moisture beneath the skin's surface, resulting in a heat rash. Humidity blocks your pores due to excess oil and in the end, can block your pores. So, taking into consideration these factors, it’s compulsory to take care of the skin and prevent it from getting damaged. Humid conditions can cause excessive sweating, which, combined with dirt and pollutants, can accumulate on the skin's surface. Without regular cleansing, this buildup can lead to skin irritation, breakouts, and a dull complexion.

Following are some tips for skin care during humid weather:

Cleansing

It is the most important part at the start of the day. You should cleanse your skin thoroughly to remove dust particles that can deepen in your skin and damage your skin. You can use a gentle cleanser to remove sweat, oil, and debris from your skin, preferably one that is non-comedogenic to prevent clogged pores.

Hydration

Hydration is non-negligible when it comes to taking care of your skin. People have this thought that staying hydrated is only important for dry skin. However, it is crucial for oily skin as well because water is beneficial for all skin problems. So, try to drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from the inside out.

Moisturizer

After cleansing, consider applying the moisturizer because it helps to prevent the excess of oil on your skin. Opt for a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer to prevent excess oiliness while still providing hydration to the skin.

Sun Protection

Sun emits harmful UV radiation that can badly affect your skin. Before getting exposed to the sun, apply sunscreen 20 minutes before so that it can absorb your skin and shield your skin. If you have sensitive skin, use a sunblock with zinc oxide which protects your skin all day long, and then avoid using harsh chemical products.

Exfoliate

Add exfoliating your skin to your skincare routine as well. Incorporate a gentle exfoliator into your skincare routine to remove dead skin cells and prevent clogged pores. However, avoid over-exfoliating, as it can irritate the skin.

Oil Controlling Products

As the humid weather increases the amount of oil in your skin, it’s better to use oil-controlling products such as mattifying primers or blotting papers to manage excess shine throughout the day.

Avoid Heavy Makeup

Consider avoiding heavy makeup on your face as it can damage and block your skin pores and make it worse. Opt for lightweight, breathable makeup products and avoid heavy foundations or creams that can clog pores and exacerbate oiliness.

Cool Showers

Wash your face with cool water and also try soaking your face in ice water to soothe the skin and alleviate any discomfort caused by the humidity.

Hydrating Face Mask

Using hydrating face masks will help your skin stay hydrated for a long time and soothe the skin by locking moisture.
